Micro Blading
Microblading is often the term used to describe the hairstroke style of brow tattoo, however, this is not the only (or best, in my opinion) option available.
A handheld tool with a blade attached to the end is used to cut the skin in a hairstroke style pattern, once the skin is opened, pigment is placed onto it and allowed to penetrate.
These cuts can cause quite a lot of trauma to the skin and this style of tattooing is not suitable for all skin types.
I offer the machine method of hairstroke brows which implants the skin with colour rather than cutting it open.
This method causes significantly less trauma to the skin, it looks incredibly natural, is pretty much painless and last longer than Microblading.

Hairstroke Brows
A very natural option perfect for anyone wanting to see individual hairs in their brows.
Delicate lines of pigment are etched into the skin with a very fine needle to replicate natural hairs.
Where clients have natural brow hair, the hair pattern is followed to ensure the results blend seamlessly into their own brow hairs.
This style of brow is ideal for anyone wanting very natural results and is best suited to clients who don’t have an oily skin.
If you like more definition to your brow, you may be better with a soft, pixelated powder style brow. See ‘powder brow’ for more information on this style.
This treatment takes around 2 hours to complete and results will last around a year before a colour boost will be needed.

Powder Brow
This style of brow suits all skin types, ages and styles as it is incredibly versatile and can be modified to suit anyone.
Clients often fear a powder brow, worrying that this style will look too heavy and fake however, when a powder brow treatment is carried out correctly, the results should look incredibly natural.
A powder brow should have light, airy, borders that simply transition to nothing with no harsh edges. It’s by pixelating the borders that the prettiest of shadows can be left in your skin to give the illusion of perfectly applied brow powder.
The amount of pigment and the choice of colour used can be varied to suit each individual client ensuring the results always remain in line with what the client wants to achieve.
The idea of permanent makeup is not to replace make up but to delicately enhance and perfect what nature gave you.
This treatment takes around 2 hours to complete and lasts between a year to 18 months depending on age and skin type.

Brow Tattooing FAQ’s
Does it hurt?
If it’s brows or lash liner then, no.
It doesn’t and it really shouldn’t! I use the machine method to create brows, I don’t microblade. The difference is that I am implanting pigment using a tiny puncture technique rather than slicing the skin open with a blade to implant the colour.
I use strong anaesthetic creams and most clients say how wonderfully relaxing the treatment is!
As for lips, it can be a tiny bit scratchy, especially around the cupids bow, but this is only for about 5 seconds either side until the anaesthetic goes in. Once the numbing agent is in the skin, it’s quite comfortable- some clients even go to sleep on me!
How long is the treatment?
Depending on the area I am working on, this can vary.
Brows and lips take around 2 hours to complete whereas a lash liner takes approximately 1 and a half hours.
Do I keep my own brows?
Absolutely. I would only remove hairs that are outside of the brow tattoo. The more hair that is kept in the brows, the more natural they appear.
How long does it last?
There are a number of factors that will dictate how long your permanent makeup will last.
As a general rule, I advise that you will need a colour boost between a year and 18 months after your initial treatment.
This can vary from person to person. Oilier skins tend to lose the colour quicker than a dry skin and age can play a significant factor in the longevity of your results.
Generally speaking, an older skin will hold on to the colour longer than a younger skin which tends to regenerates itself much more quickly.
Lifestyle plays an integral role in the durability of your results. If you take good care of your skin and avoid UV exposure, you will keep the colour looking fresh for longer.

I can create a healed result that is so natural that only you would know that it’s a tattoo.
You can go as bold and dramatic as you like or as soft, natural and subtle as you want. The possibilities of permanent makeup are endless.
Am I too old?
I work with clients of all ages. Obviously, what I create for a twenty-something client will be very different to the design I create for my seventy-something clients. It’s all about being age appropriate and respecting my clients wishes.
Clients must be 18 years or above but there is no age limit as to who can benefit from a permanent makeup procedure, it’s just about modifying my technique accordingly.
Who can’t have a treatment?
Clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding are contraindicated from having a permanent makeup treatment. Whilst there is no conclusive evidence that PMU can harm your baby, it would be unethical to take such a risk. Aside from this, hormones play a significant part in how the skin reacts to the treatment and there’s a high probability that the colour wouldn’t take.
Other clients who are contraindicated from treatment would include those that are on blood thinning medications or have issues with healing.
Anyone undergoing chemotherapy or those with undiagnosed skin lesions, active psoriasis or eczema would be wise to avoid permanent makeup.
This is not a definitive list, certain medical health issues may require a doctor’s approval.
